Stuff my Mom used to say

Stuff my Mom used to say

So firstly I feel I need to tell you what an incredible woman my Mom was.

When I say my mom experienced childhood trauma, I mean it was off the scale! I am not surprised she battled mental illness her whole life but through it all we always knew we were loved and she absolutely did her best. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, friend, human being and old goat (😂 - this my friends will be another story).

Many things my mom did and said made us all laugh and here are a few of them. I think I will be updating this blog fairly often.

Warning: contains explicit language.

"You know that little Russian fellow? Tufski Shitski."

"Would you like a tampon to get you through this difficult period?"

Once she stopped at an intersection and opened her boot and asked the driver behind her if he wanted to climb in.

"Take a teaspoon of cement and harden the fuck up"

But my mom also used to say:

"I love you."

"You can do anything you put your mind to."

"I love you more than air."

She called her grandkids "Grannies Angels."

"If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all."

My mom lived her life by the starfish story.

The Starfish Story

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…” I made a difference for that one.”

I love you more than air Mom.

In loving memory of my beautiful mom.
